Alpine Valley is a service-first company built on the promise of showing up for their customers and community. Whether delivering bottled water to local businesses, full truckloads to national partners, or donating cases to a local marathon, the team is known for being responsive, reliable, and relationship-driven.
As the business expanded, so did the complexity of its offerings. With multiple customer types and services under one brand, Alpine Valley knew it needed to sharpen how it communicated its value and bring more structure to its growth efforts. Without an in-house marketing team, they turned to CMO-OnLoan for guidance and support.
From Local Presence to Two Distinct Brands
The work began with Alpine Valley’s core business, focused on water and coffee service for local customers. CMO-OnLoan helped clarify their Ideal Target, shape their Key Messages, and lead a website refresh to better reflect their offerings.
“We needed to define a clear vision, internally and externally, so everyone was more consistent in describing our work,” said Charlie Hall, President of Alpine Valley and Water Expeditors.
That project laid the groundwork for a larger initiative. As Alpine Valley formalized its national bottled water delivery business, they created a new brand called Water Expeditors. CMO-OnLoan guided development of the brand strategy with leadership and a creative agency, and supported a full go-to-market launch. This included messaging, a new website, social and email content, sales materials, and digital presence.
Once Water Expeditors launched, CMO-OnLoan refocused support for Alpine Valley’s core business, helping the team refine its message and develop tools to strengthen outreach and sales conversations.
Strategy That Fits the Business
Without an internal marketing team, Alpine Valley needed a partner who could provide practical strategy and adapt to the way they worked. CMO-OnLoan flexed in and out as needed, working closely with leadership and the team to shape strategy, manage creative partnerships, and develop tools the team could own.
“They didn’t need big agency layers. They needed a flexible partner who could scale up, step back, and come alongside them when the timing was right,” said Amy Connor, Founder & CEO of CMO-OnLoan.
This allowed the Alpine Valley team to stay focused on operations while building the structure and direction needed to support growth. “It pointed the way north to who we wanted to be,” said Charlie. “That now guides what we discuss all the time: how to provide partner-level service.”
A Vision Grounded in Service
“A company like Alpine Valley makes our job easy,” said Amy. “They care deeply about the people they serve and lead with heart in everything they do. Charlie and his team have a strong vision for where they’re headed, and it was a privilege to help them bring that into focus.”
Their service mindset was central to the brand evolution. “We’re in a world of noise. It’s harder than ever to have meaningful conversations,” said Charlie. “Having a clear, shared way of communicating what makes us different helps cut through that.”
Moving Forward With Confidence
Today, Alpine Valley operates with two clearly defined brands, a focused message, and a stronger foundation for growth. Their sales team has the tools to communicate with confidence, and the organization is aligned around who they serve and how they show up.
“It was not an easy task, but the process helped us define exactly what we do for the customer,” said Charlie. “Now we can show up with clarity, and that is what makes everything else work.”
